L'Horto is a former family vegetable farm acquired around 1920.
Its location is ideal for visiting Carcassonne on foot: Canal du Midi, Cité de Carcassonne, bastide Saint-Louis (city center), with all its shops and entertainment, as well as the banks of the Aude for beautiful walks or bike rides.
To cool off during the warm season, a water park with a swimming pool and a spa area is just a 3-minute walk away.
Numerous attractions are available nearby: the Montagne Noire to discover the ingenious water supply system of the Canal du Midi, the book village of Montolieu, Castelnaudary and its cassoulet, Limoux and its sparkling wines, the Cathar castles like Saissac and Lastours, the dinosaur museum of Espéraza, the sea is less than an hour away, Corbières and Minervois nearby.
You will enjoy a stay "in the countryside" while being in Carcassonne.
The 4000 m² wooded garden is accessible to you with sheep, chickens, miniature pigs, dogs, and cats.
A private terrace is at your disposal with garden furniture and a plancha to fully enjoy your meals or to relax after a day of sightseeing.
The property is fenced with an electric gate, your parking will be in front of your gîte in the courtyard, the old farm pigsty is your bike storage if needed.
The stone gîte with double glazing does not have air conditioning but the rooms are equipped with fans.
Your entrance is through a veranda, a separate toilet is located right next to it. - On the ground floor: a living room with a dining table, a lounge area with a sofa, armchairs, and TV.
A fully equipped independent kitchen. - Upstairs: two bedrooms furnished in the "1930" and "1970" style with TV and 140 cm beds for 2x2 people and a separate shared bathroom (shower, sink, and toilet).
Your pets are welcome and must coexist with ours.

The gite was really lovely. It was a delight to stay there and our hosts were especially nice. Very close to everything you need all within a short walk. A lovely stroll along the river brings you to the beautiful historic cite. Highly recommend and when you meet Paco the piglet you will fall in love.

Un très bon séjour et surtout nelly et André très gentils et de bon conseils sur carcassonne Mon chien solo un berger suisse était très content d être avec eux Je recommande le gîte sans problèmes et au plaisir de revenir ultérieurement
