When not glued to this panoramic vista, the accommodation itself is equally pleasing. Centrally located patio doors open up into a bright and modern open plan living room, kitchen and dining area, with 2 King size en-suite bedrooms to either side. The kitchen, which is chic and minimalist, is complemented by the adjoining dining area, which is completed with colourful accents in the crockery and soft furnishings. Zip n Link beds afford guests the choice of either 2 King size bedrooms or a 1 King and 1 twin, with both rooms looking out across the same fabulous view as the living area.
Included in your stay is complimentary use of the onsite communal wood fired Sauna and Cold Plunge Pool, where you can relax and take in the stunning scenery, spectacular sunsets and on a clear night amazing star gazing.
The surrounding area offers something for everyone, making it an ideal destination for families, couples, and adventurers alike. Outdoor enthusiasts will love exploring the Galloway Forest Park – one of the UK’s largest forest parks – with its wide range of activities including hiking, water sports, horse riding, fishing, and clay pigeon shooting. It’s also home to some of the darkest skies in Europe, perfect for stargazing and spotting constellations in the clear night sky.
Families with younger children will find plenty to keep little ones entertained. Visit the Cocoabean Chocolate Factory in Twynholm for fun chocolate-making workshops and energetic play in both the indoor soft play and outdoor adventure zones. Head to Ernespie Farm Park in Castle Douglas where children can climb aboard a real combine harvester or brave the giant ‘Cresta slide’. The magical Galloway Faery Trail offers a unique treasure-hunt style adventure, encouraging kids to solve clues and discover hidden faeries along the way. And, of course, no visit would be complete without a trip to one of the nearby sandy beaches—perfect for building sandcastles and exploring rock pools.
History lovers can immerse themselves in the region’s rich heritage at sites like Cairn Holy, where two Neolithic chambered cairns overlook stunning coastal views, or explore the ruins of Cardoness Castle, Maclellan Castle, and the charming streets of Kirkcudbright, also known as the Artist’s Town for its creative legacy and vibrant arts scene.
Foodies will delight in the local flavours, with excellent dining options nearby including Galloway Lodge in Gatehouse of Fleet and The Selkirk Arms in Kirkcudbright. Discover local brews at Sulwath Brewery, or enjoy a tasting tour at the nearby Crafty Gin Distillery and Bladnoch Whisky Distillery, both offering a true taste of Galloway’s finest craftsmanship.
Whether you're looking for outdoor adventures, cultural experiences, or delicious local fare, this part of Scotland has it all waiting to be discovered.
