The beautiful stonework of this former Coach House is the first thing to greet you as you approach this detached cosy cottage.
The door opens into the open plan kitchen/living room which is light and airy due to the French doors which let light flood in, and open to the enclosed garden area.
Outside the back door is a seating area which is perfectly placed to enjoy the fantastic views of Lake Windermere.

Other attractions include the Waterhead Pier which dates back to 1845 and is the gateway to ferries which can be taken to Bowness and Lakeside pier near Newby Bridge, Wray Castle and Brockhole Visitor Centre.
Motor and rowing boats are available if you wish to take to the water.
There is a huge raft of outdoor adventure activities available around Ambleside and Windermere lake ranging from abseiling and climbing to bushcraft and sailing.
If you prefer less energetic pursuits, then just a short walk from Ambleside is the National Trust owned Stagshaw Gardens.
Covering about 8 acres, the gardens have a fine collections of rhododendrons and azaleas and ericaceous trees and shrubs or the impressive Stock Ghyll Force, a spectacular 70 foot waterfall which may be viewed safely from a railed viewpoint and also a amazing view of the Roman fort is visible at the bottom of the garden.
The Armitt Museum is a purpose-built home for a collection of books, manuscripts, water-colours, archaeological remains, geological specimens and assorted paraphernalia.
It also houses an area dedicated to Beatrix Potter or you may prefer to visit the remains of Galava Roman Fort, and if that’s not enough to keep you busy, then Ambleside is the ideal base for exploring the rest of the Lake District.
Free WiFi There are steps or steep slopes in the garden.

Cottage was adorable, cosy and in a lovely location with a lovely lake view. We had a lovely break there.
The only downside was that there were other properties surrounding us and the living space had no blinds to the back which I found a bit intrusive on an evening.

A lovely, well equipped cottage ,in a quiet, rural location. Great views over Windemere and Loughrigg Fell. We had a very peaceful break.
We had a slight problem with heating, we arrived on a particularly cold day and the heating(set on a timer), did not come on. We managed to get heat on eventually

Lovely property in a great location. Nice to be greeted with some heating on as was a cold wet day when we arrived - thank you! Also good to note there is new Wi-Fi in the property which was more than sufficient for our needs.
