This newly refurbished apartment is in the captain's quarters Ämsterdam Houthavens" of the freighter . It is a cozy, romantic and comfortable. The lounge in the captain's steering cabin above deck offers a beautifull 360 view of the old Amsterdam Houthavens (lumber harbor), the IJ (the main water way to the harbor) and the city. Below deck there is a seperate sleeping area; a dining/living area with a small, but fully equipped, kitchenette; and bathroom with shower and toilet.
All amenities are brand-new. There is an internet connection. The apartment has its own entrance, a deck with an old fashioned fire cauldron/bbq and a second seating terras. It has a sense of spaciousness and there is a sea of tranquility. A great place to relax and watch ships of all sizes and swans come by while the boat gently rocks.

Dana was the perfect hostess and her boathouse was lovely. We had absolutely everything we needed and more. She really thinks about everything and is so toughtfull. Plus, we haven’t slept this well in a long time! l hope I will have the chance to go back one day because this is not only a stay, it’s an experience in it self!

Lovely stay in houseboat Dana, a wonderful oasis of calm just a few minutes from all the action of Amsterdam. Such a unique place to stay with everything you could possibly need for a short break. The hosting was great too, with excellent communication and information provided to make the stay even better. We’d definitely stay again when we are next visiting Amsterdam.

Our stay was wonderful on Dana’s Houseboat. She was fantastic & definitely spoiled us. Staying on the houseboat definitely made our incredible visit to Amsterdam even better!!
